Adult Confirmation

Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation together constitute the sacraments of Christian initiation. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states, “Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit- his actions, his gifts, and his bidding – in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of the Christian life.”

Confirmation preparation for adults at St. Anthony of Padua begins in September each year and runs through April. The preparation consists of weekly classes, reading, prayer, and participation in the life of the parish. The goal is to draw each person into a deeper relationship with Christ and His Church in preparation for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
