Liturgical Ministries
Altar Servers
Altar servers assist the priest and deacon during Mass by carrying the cross, holding the Roman Missal, and preparing the altar. They also handle sacred vessels and help with other tasks as needed throughout the liturgy. This role offers young people an opportunity to grow in their faith and understanding of the Church’s sacred rituals.
Environment
Enhance the worship space by decorating and maintaining the church in accordance with liturgical seasons and celebrations.
Extraordinary Ministers
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion help distribute the Eucharist during Mass and bring Communion to the homebound or hospitalized. They serve as an extension of the Church’s mission, ensuring everyone can partake in the Body and Blood of Christ. Their role requires a spirit of humility, faith, and reverence for this sacred duty.
Greeters
Greeters are the first point of contact for parishioners and visitors arriving at the church. They offer warm smiles, words of welcome, and assistance to anyone who needs help finding their way. By fostering a spirit of hospitality, they ensure that everyone feels valued and included in the parish community.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the Word of God during Mass by reading Scripture passages with clarity and reverence. They help bring God’s message to life, engaging the congregation in the teachings of the Bible. This ministry requires prayerful preparation and a deep respect for the sacred texts.
Linens Committee
Care for and launder the sacred linens used during Mass, ensuring their reverence and cleanliness.
Music Ministry
The Music Ministry leads the congregation in worship through hymns, psalms, and other liturgical music. They enhance the beauty of the Mass by providing music that inspires prayer and fosters active participation. Choir members, instrumentalists, and cantors work together to elevate the celebration of the liturgy through their talents.
Sacristans
Sacristans prepare the altar, sacred vessels, and other items needed for the celebration of Mass. They ensure everything is in its proper place and ready for use by the priest and deacon. Their behind-the-scenes work is essential for the smooth and reverent flow of the liturgy.
Ushers
Ushers assist parishioners by helping them find seats, taking up the offertory collection, and guiding the flow of Communion. They maintain order and provide assistance during emergencies or special circumstances. Their ministry ensures that the congregation can worship in a comfortable and respectful environment.
